It all began with an encounter.
In 1996, Professor Robert Wolff, a researcher at the Institut des Corps Gras (Institute of Fats & Oils) in Bordeaux and senior lecturer at the University of Bordeaux I, met Jean-Jacques Berger, founder of D'A NOSTE, the N°1 French producer of maritime pine seeds.
“You have a wonder of nature in your hands!”, said the Professor, who had spent several years studying the biological activity of conifer oils and was now unveiling their benefits. Steeped in exceptional Delta 5 fatty acids, vitamin E and polyphenols, which make it one of the richest of all vegetable oils, oil of maritime pine seed is an unprecedented natural active ingredient whose restructuring, anti-oxidizing and protective virtues nourish and regenerate the skin to reveal its original beauty.
OCÉOPIN was born from this decisive encounter.
Heeding the advice of Professor Wolff, Jean-Jacques Berger decided to confirm and engage a deeper analysis of these initial results. There then began a partnership with the Bordeaux-based ITERG and the laboratory of Dr. Dallongeville at the Pasteur Institute in Lille.
Using their scientific expertise, the two teams of researchers proved and objectivized the active properties of maritime pine seed oil in the field of natural cosmetics and nutraceuticals.
After ten years of studies studded with international publications and invaluable discoveries,Jean-Jacques Berger filed a patent for the extraction and applications of maritime pine seed oil.
In 2010, working alongside his daughter Marina Berger, he gave his OCÉOPIN company its present form and philosophy: the one and only harvester and manufacturer of maritime pine seed oil.
“The fields of innovations and formulations provided by our 100% natural vegetable oil have incited us to apply all our energy, all our know-how, to serving the professional sectors of beauty and health, both of which demand only the finest raw materials for their products.”
