OCÉOPIN came about through an exceptional encounter and an innovation: a patent for the extraction of maritime pine seed oil and its applications in the field of natural cosmetics and nutraceuticals.
The revelation of the benefits provided by this amazingly effective oil is the end-result of ten years of collaboration with Professor Robert Wolff, an eminent researcher from Bordeaux and specialist in fats and oils, and teams from the Pasteur Institute in Lille and from the Bordeaux-based ITERG. Research has always been the lifeblood of our development, and this is why we have taken our time to give each of our findings full and in-depth analysis, designed to extend our knowledge of a fascinating seed and a fascinating tree.
Backed by cosmetic and clinical objectivization tests, the results of our investigations have been the subject of a wide number of publications in international scientific reviews:Chemistry and Physics of Lipids, Inform (AOCS), Lipid Technology, Journal of the American Oil Chemists’ Society (JAOCS)…
While the unprecedented properties of maritime pine seed oil are opening up new horizons in the formulation of high-end natural cosmetics, they are also vectors for a significant breakthrough in the field of nutraceuticals. The Delta 5 fatty acids that give the oil its originality and make it the richest such oil known to date, have a proven cholesterol-lowering effect and exciting nutritional and physiological potential. These long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, rare in the plant world, close the gap between maritime pine seed oil and the composition of certain fish oils, known for their role in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.
Supported in our research by the agency “Innovalis” and the “Région Aquitaine”, today we are pursuing our development in partnership with highly reputed expert scientific institutions in order to finalize an active ingredient dedicated to professionals working in the nutrition and health sectors.
